Christmas Mini-sessions!

Hey everyone!
This has been a CRAZY week to say the least, so I'm a little late posting this.

The weekend of November 7th and 8th I am going to be hosting mini-sessions. Basically what this means is that I will be shooting back-to-back 45 minute sessions for anyone wanting family pictures for Christmas cards, etc.

These sessions are not meant to replace my normal sessions. They are meant for one family- 45 minutes max- no outfit changes or anything....

Since they are only 45 minutes, I am running a special- 45 minute session for $45!
You can then pick what prints you would like based on my price list, or just buy a CD of high resolution files of 10 pictures for $100.00.

I get asked alot what you should wear; I usually suggest jeans, coordinating color- shirts (not matchy-matchy, though) that don't clash, and accessories! Scarves, winter hats, etc. are a great way to add interest to a photo! Also- if you have to, it's okay, but I usually suggest that you don't wear white shirts...it isn't terribly flattering on anyone and generally makes people look washed out! There's my two cents. :)

Location: The house in Friendswood where I took Maternity Pictures in June;

Let me know asap so you can secure the time you would like- first come first serve, so if you don't get the time you request I'll give you the spot closest.

I'm going to be out of town Thursday afternoon until Saturday afternoon, so if you e-mail me tomorrow after 2:00pm I won't return your e-mail until Saturday. Just know I'm not ignoring you! :)

Leslie and Chris, take 2.

I asked Leslie if I could do another photo session of her and Chris in locations of my choosing.

She happily agreed, as did Chris (*ahem* after I fake cried. I can be very convincing when i need to. And, Chris is just a nice guy.) :)

I've been dying to go to some of these places for a while now, and had the old beat up VW in my sights as a location for their engagement pics from the beginning. and guess what?

I LOVE it! Hope yall do too!

Remember it takes 2 weeks to see your proofs, and another week to fill any orders you place. If you factor in when you want to actually send your cards out....yikes!

This was a great newborn shoot! I caught this sweet little girl early enough that she is still sleeping constantly, and therefore got some wonderful sleepy shots. It was drizzling out that day, but we waited for a semi-dry moment and rushed outside to get the shots on the tree stump and they came out better than I could've hoped. Hope you like the preview!

B-Ball turns one!

Okay, so I'm a little overdue with this post. I've been a little busy.

I had the opportunity to shoot this little cuties first birthday party a couple of weeks ago! It was alot of fun and made me feel good that mom was able to enjoy all of the festivities instead of worrying about taking pictures of him! (Great idea, other moms out there...don't you think? Pay someone else to take pictures while you enjoy the party? Hint, hint.)

I went back for more of this newborn in hopes of catching him asleep....no such luck! (although mom said he fell asleep right after I left. Of course!) Here are some more of baby K:

I'm starting to play with different actions for photoshop (and trying to NOT go overboard with them...) Let me know what yall think!

I love taking pictures of newborns...look at those big eyes and beautiful skin!

I'm starting to think about different locations for mini-sessions for the fall- I know it seems a little early to be thinking about Christmas cards, but if you count in editing time and shipping time for the actual cards- it's coming fast! E-mail me to set up time to get those family pictures taken! I'm starting to research different Christmas card styles and am excited about the possibilities!

This is a sweet family who goes to Crosspoint Fellowship with us. These gals were hilarious! They made my job so easy by posing constantly and giggling. We headed over to Herman Park to take pictures at the Japanese Gardens....but they were closed by the time we got there! So, we did the best with what we had and got some great shots! And this newborn...if he doesn't melt your heart, nothing will...

Introducing: Miss Kodee!

Everyone remember the skinny pregnant gal I posted maternity pics a few weeks ago of? I wasn't kidding. She was full term. Here's her sweet little pumpkin to prove it!This is sweet little Kodee LaJoyce Lentz, weighing in at 6 lbs 3oz and 19 inches long. She is just beautiful. Take a good look at this baby- you'll be seeing alot more of her!These next ones are my favorites- I could NOT believe I got them. Perfection. (I mean her...not, me!)I miss these days.... lots of sleep, cuddling and kisses that they can't fight off.

Nikki- hope you enjoy! I have a few more than what I'm posting that will be on your cd, but I want to do a family shoot in August with Dane and all the kiddos and get some more. okay? (and Aunt Margaret, you can cease your harrassment! :)

Me and Rach headed down to Angleton last Sunday for a little practice photo shoot and got some definite keepers! The sun was still super-harsh, but we just went with it and tried to avoid harsh shadows on her face (although I was sometimes unsuccessful!) We had alot of fun just pulling the car over when we saw a cool alley or colorful building- we even stopped at an abandoned restaurant. Lots of fun! Here are the finalists, according to Rachel:

I met a good friend of mine the other day to take some pics of her two little cuties! The youngest sat perfectly still and posed like a champ... the older one was faster than lightning! It was so much fun and I questioned whether I had gotten any pics of both boys smiling, but alas! I think there is one. :) Angie- hope one of these was worth it for ya! Thanks for letting me practice on your precious little boys! (P.S. I don't mean for there to be more of Brady, but he just sat there with those big blue eyes calling to me while you chased Luke...:)

This next one just looked so "Baby GQ" to me- too cute!

Maternity Session #1

Okay, I think it went pretty well for being the first maternity session I've ever done. Girls- try to not hate Nikki. It's not her fault she is almost 37 weeks pregnant and is just now wearing maternity clothes. Nor is it her fault she still has the skinniest legs and face (how is it possible she is not swollen yet? I started to swell at 28 weeks. *don't be bitter, don't be bitter*) As I was saying. Try to not hate her for being at the end of her third trimester, and still being freakishly small and cute...

Hello Friends!

Welcome to my new blog! I'm going to be posting any photo shoots I do (along with any practicing as is the case here...) so check back often! Sun Flares

I had a chance yesterday to practice catching sun flares with Rachel...it was alot of fun to actually be able to practice different skills without have to chase my subject! Here's my first attempts at sun flares...

I think this last one is my favorite!

The only difficult part was lighting up Rachel's face enough without upping my ISO to it's highest point (which is what I ended up having to do for most of these....which is why most of them look a little grainy.) If I had a tripod I could have lowered my shutter speed to compensate, but alas, I do not own a tripod. I'll have to try a little earlier in the day next time so that it isn't quite so dark.

Here are some fun pictures we took while we were getting ready for my cousin Nikki to get there (just to clarify, we got there early, she wasn't late...)

Rachel is truly the perfect model. She knows what I'm talking about when I tell her to make certain faces or gaze off into the distance, deep in thought (hehehe.) The trick is she does it without a dramatic, unrealistic flare. She is good. And, um, hello....gorgeous.

You can expect to see alot of her on this blog.

Next up (later today) : Maternity shoot with Nikki!
